Alterego was born from the idea of supporting the world of art and culture through Virtual Reality. The 360-degree vision, the unlimited possibilities of development and artistic choices possible in recreating a plane parallel to that of everyday reality are the thresholds beyond which it is possible for us to imagine a new way of approaching and amplifying the traditional system of mutual exchange between audiences and culture.

Alterego was not created to replace, but rather to flank and expand the traditional possibilities for the enjoyment and exploration of the world of art and culture. For us, virtual reality is not an end point, but an advanced means of deepening the user's relationship with a given context, with a story, with a work.

The world we have in mind prescinds from the shackles of mathematics and physics, hovers above the rules that have always been imposed on the reality that surrounds us, shapes and evolves having as its only limit that of imagination.

WHAT WE DO
We are in the business of designing, developing, and bringing to life interactive virtual reality experiences related to the world of culture, literature, and architecture. In addition to the development of virtual reality experiences, we also deal with site-specific installations, videomapping, and other technologies related to the enhancement of projects, in relation to a specific context or object.

Inside Alterego coexist different figures, experiences and professionalism ranging from communication, graphic design, programming, architecture, music, three-dimensional modeling and new technologies.

METAPOETRY
The Metaverse of Poetry
Alterego Digital Lab and the Mitilanti association have joined forces to widen the spaces of the hybrid boundary between poetry, visual arts and virtual reality by creating “Metapoetry,” the first Italian experience in virtual reality that ferries the medium of poetry into the domain of new technologies, presenting it during the Bright Festival at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence on April 20 and 21, 2024.
